  “漢語(yǔ)橋”世界*生中文比賽(the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students)是由*漢辦(the Office of Chinese Language Council International)主辦的大規(guī)模國(guó)際性比賽。到目前為止,這個(gè)一年一度的比賽已經(jīng)成功舉辦了12屆。今年的決賽共有來(lái)自77個(gè)不同*的123名選手(contestant)參加。該賽旨在激發(fā)各國(guó)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ)的興趣及加強(qiáng)世界對(duì)漢語(yǔ)和*文化的了解。 同時(shí),這個(gè)比賽也建立起*年輕*生和其他*學(xué)生之間溝通的橋梁。   參考譯文   The "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students is a large-scale international competition sponsored by the Office of Chinese Language Council International So far this yearly event has been successfully held for 12 times. A total of 123 contestants from 77 different countries participated in the finals this year. The "Chinese Bridge" Competition aims to arouse the interest of students in various countries in learning Chinese and strengthen the world's understanding of Chinese language and culture. It also builds a communication bridge between young college students of China and other countries.

漢語(yǔ)橋增進(jìn)了各國(guó)學(xué)生對(duì)漢語(yǔ)和*文化的了解

 ??1.第1句中的定語(yǔ)“由*漢辦主辦的”較長(zhǎng),故將其處理成后置定語(yǔ),用過(guò)去分詞短語(yǔ)sponsored by…引出,表被動(dòng)。   2.第2句中的“已經(jīng)成功舉辦了12屆”形式上為主動(dòng)句,其含義卻表被動(dòng),譯成英文時(shí)要采用被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài),故譯作has been successful held for 12 times.   3.第3句“今年的決賽共有來(lái)自77個(gè)不同*的123名選手參加”如果直譯成the finals of this year had 123 contestants…,不符合英文表達(dá)習(xí)慣:翻譯時(shí),先確定好主要結(jié)構(gòu)(a total of 123 contestants participated in the finals)?!皝?lái)自77個(gè)不同*的”作主語(yǔ)的后置定語(yǔ),用介詞短語(yǔ)from 77 different countries來(lái)表達(dá)。時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)“今年”置于句末。   4.*一句中的“建立起*年輕*生和其他*學(xué)生之間溝通的橋梁”如果逐字對(duì)譯為builds a communication bridge between Chinese young college students and students in other countries則顯重復(fù)啰嗦。故“省譯”兩個(gè)“學(xué)生”中的一個(gè),把“*”和“其他*”處理成后置定語(yǔ),表達(dá)為between young college students of China and other countries.
